Om617 mpg.

I picked up a low mile N/A 617 that I want to put in a 91' reg cab-short bed 4x4 Toyota pickup. I know that I can make the adapters to bolt it to the Toyota w-56 5spd, my question is how reliable of a power plant would this be for a little truck. I am not really going for power, but more for economy and it being somewhat unique.jbrasile. While the 603 is a much more civilized and powerful engine (148hp in the 300D Turbo and SDL) it does not come even close to the 617 as far as durability and reliability. The trap oxidizer is not the worst of its problems and because it is slightly more complex its operational costs are higher too.I know that 150 -175 hp is pretty realistically possible, as several folks have done it and had their cars dynoed. I have not found much that would indicate what sort of torque output they are getting at those power settings. I know that stock the OM617 is like 120hp and 175 fl-lbs.
